George Bernard Shaw has rightly said,
“There is no sincerer love than the love of food.”
Who would understand this
better than a person who has grown up in India, where most
of the childhood memories comprise of food!? Be it the delish homemade
food we ate every day or those rare outings to our favorite restaurants on some
special days! Food always has a way of transporting us to our happy place.
Growing up in the city of Pune I know for
a fact that it has a whole wide variety of food to offer. Be it the traditional
Maharashtrian Thalis, the mouth-watering vadapavs, the ever so famous Shrews
berry biscuits or even the mango barfi and bakarwadis from Chitale. It has also
been famous for the iconic food joints like the Goodluck Café, Vohuman Café,
Vaishali etc.
Apart
from food, the city which has always been famous as the Oxford of the East has
played host to a variety of festivals in the past. Be it the NH7 Weekender, the
Supersonic Festival, the Sunburn or on a more traditional front the Sawai
Gandharva Festival, we have seen it all. And taking this scene a notch higher
we, at ORNATE PUNE, have
found the perfect merger of food and festivals at Pune’s biggest curated
food festival ‘WORLD DHABA’, a
food festival by the foodies for the foodies!
With over 40 food stalls and 10 food
trucks, this festival has a great variety of International food styles
personally handpicked by the organizers especially for you after a lengthy
screening process. Not only do they curate the applications for food stalls but also make it a point to
provide a platform for the new upcoming restaurants and the budding home
chefs.
What’s
more? Along with a great variety of International food cuisines like Bhutanese,
Assamese, Italian they also had some great variety of Indian food to offer this
season.
WORLD
DHABA which was started in the year 2014 has successfully completed its 4th
year and has set a benchmark for all the festivals of its kind. With
changing food culture of the city they too have grown in order to cater to all
kinds of foodies. This is why this season they introduced separate zones for
our Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian food lovers. A decision was smartly taken than
helped increase the footfall manifold.
This
new trend that has been set by Kushal Karera, organizer WORLD DHABA, has
received a positive response from all the true blue foodies. For all the love
for food that I share I can guarantee that I have never been to a festival that
offers such great food.
And if you are someone who finds happiness in food, imagine how happy it would
make you when you visit a festival that is dedicated entirely and purely to
food? Believe me, if you are a true foodie then these festivals are the place
for you to be!
